Chief Daryl Longworth was born and raised in Woodstock. He and his wife Mary have been blessed with seven children. Chief Longworth has served as a police officer for over 30 years with Halton Regional Police the Woodstock Police Service (WPS) and the London Police Service (LPS).
He has served in a number of portfolios throughout his career including front line patrol, Criminal Investigations, Drug Enforcement, Criminal Intelligence, Undercover Operations and the Emergency Response Team.
Chief Longworth has served at the provincial level as a Vice President of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and has served on several OACP Committees. He has previously served as a member of the Executive for the Criminal Intelligence Service of Ontario and has received a number of awards in relation to drug enforcement and Outlaw Motorcycle gang investigations.
Chief Longworth is a graduate of Conestoga College; The Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto; FBI National Academy; and is a Level III Certified Municipal Manager.
Chief Longworth has volunteered as a youth leader and as a coach for local soccer, football, basketball and hockey. He is active in his church and he and his entire family volunteer annually with Operation Sharing and Salvation Army Christmas initiatives. He has been an advocate for mental health supports in the community and has been instrumental promoting wellness supports within the police organizations that he has served in.
